Provides speech and language clinical supports, including assessment and recommendations for ongoing supports and/or
adaptive/assistive technology. Provides direct counseling supports as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
NY State Education Department Licensed Speech Language Pathologist. Experience in a human service setting supporting
individuals with developmental disabilities preferred. Must maintain licensure status. Experience or knowledge of Microsoft
Office products preferred.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Completes speech and language assessments, evaluating the need for ongoing supports for speech, language and/or adaptive/assistive technology. 2. Develops and implements a Treatment Plan designed to enhance the individual s ability to effectively communicate with his/her community, and, which is consistent with the individual s interests. 3. Provides individualized or group counseling supports consistent with the individual s interests and goals, as defined in the person s Treatment Plan, and in accordance with accepted professional practice standards. Works with family members, significant others and service providers as necessary, to facilitate success of clinical supports. 4. Assists individual with obtaining needed assistive/adaptive technology by providing comprehensive speech and language assessment and working with the individual s Service Coordinator as needed. 5. Documents all clinical activities in the confidential clinical record (assessment, case notes, six month reviews). 6. Participates in in-services and conferences designed to enhance work skills and encourage professional growth. Researches innovative and evidence based treatment methods and implements accordingly. 7. Maintains and adheres to ethics of confidentiality and in accordance with HIPAA. 8. Performs other duties as assigned.
